While the bees and pollinators are hunkered down for winter, I’ve been planning and booking events for 2024. I love taking bee walks or bee safaris in spring and summer gardens and I’ve got some great things lined up for the summer of 2024. I can’t reveal everything, but I can start to share some of the exciting events that are in my diary.

First, I am taking workshops at RHS Rosemoor (May 11th 2024) and RHS Wisley (May 23rd 2024). Each workshop starts with a hot drink and an illustrated talk, followed by a bee safari within the RHS Gardens. I’ll be taking my nature table too, so there will be plenty of things to show you and to share.

Bee walks are a great way to share a bit of bee love. First I can introduce some of the bees that you might see in your garden. Then I can talk about really good bee plants. And if you are lucky the bees might come and join us.

I like to safely catch a few bees as I walk and pass the little magnifying pots around so that people can see the bees close up. Don’t worry there are air holes in the pots and I never leave them in there for long. No bees are harmed when I do a bee walk and I’ve never been stung. In fact most bees don’t sting and I won’t be catching the ones that sting the most (the honeybees).

I’ll be taking bee tours/bee walks and bee safaris at Jekka’s Herb Farm open days next summer. June 7th and June 8th 2024. Check out Jekka’s website for dates – you need to book a time slot and a ticket!

You can join me on a Bumblebee Safari at Yeo Valley Organic Gardens in Blagdon, Somerset. We’ve just added the first dates to the calendar. This is a lovely morning within a gorgeous garden. You’ll be greeted with tea and coffee and CAKE in the Yurt, followed by an illustrated introduction to some of our quirky wild bees (not honeybees) followed by Q&A and a bee safari around the gardens. Make a day of it and go for lunch afterwards and take time to explore these magical gardens. The first date is Friday April 12th – that’s a perfect time to see some Queen bumblebees foraging in the garden.

I will bee doing bee walks and pollinator walks in gardens, at festivals and special events throughout the year, so watch this space.

And for the first time I’ve started doing Birthday Bee Parties for adults, so watch this space.

I’m taking bookings for bee walks and talks and events for 2024, so if you’d like me to come to your garden event, do contact me on Twitter or InstaGram. I like nothing better than talking about bees and pollinators!

You can contact me via my contact page or visit my other website TheGreenJeanie.com

Or via the Garden Media Guild website. I can’t wait to inspire you about our precious pollinators.
