Two RHS Wisley Workshops – An Introduction to Garden Bees – Morning or Afternoon

May 10 @ 10:30 am4:30 pm

£38

If you love gardens, plants and gardening and want to do more in your patch to help our pollinators and especially the bees, this is a great place to start.

Our half-day workshops give you the chance to learn about the fascinating bumblebees and solitary bees that live, feed and breed in and around our gardens.

We start with an illustrated talk that offers an insight into the incredible secret world of garden bees. And then we take a walk around the fabulous flower beds at RHS Wisley looking at the bumblebees and other pollinators feeding on the flowers. Jean will gently catch some of them into magnifying pots so that you can look at them safely, close-up to appreciate their differences and their beauty. It’s a great chance to really look at bees. One of the other highlights of this workshop is that you will get to learn about the power plants that really make a difference to our precious pollinators.

There will also be an interactive and pollinator-focused nature table to look at. Please note that this is not about honeybees.

There are two workshops on May 10th 2025. One starts at 10.30am and the other at 2pm. You don’t need to be an RHS Member to attend this course and you can spend the rest of the day enjoying the spectacular RHS Wisley.
